From the start this was going to be a difficult one for the boys of Shotgun
Smile: a new venue, a new audience and a new atmosphere.
Playing under the slightly edited band name of “Ryan and Friends”, they didn’t know quite what to
expect.
However, they rose to the occasion straight away, starting off on top form and
continuing with a good solid first set that couldn’t help but get toes tapping!
Before long the more enthusiastic (and less inhibited/more inebriated) members
of the audience had filled the dance floor with a frenzy of funky chickens and
numerous other “high quality” moves.
The second half started off in a similar way, getting everyone immediately back
into the mood with a high octane version of “you’ve got my number”. The audience
became increasingly more appreciative of the bands choice, and performance, of
their songs.
“Should I stay of should I go” began the beginning of the end of
the night, creating a dance floor choc a bloc with sweaty bodies! (And that was
just kev and shave)
By the end of evening the band had had a cracking time
and the audience an even better one, new fans had been recruited and a new
venue conquered!
